I’ve been reading Max Weber’s Economy and Society and I’ve just realised that I’ve been compulsively highlighting every single line. It’s like, I know what I’m reading is somehow important but my brain just cannot translate what I’m reading into anything that makes sense. And for some reason, I just think that, if I highlight everything now, when I come back to it in a few weeks, everything will somehow magically make sense. This was the same for me with Immanuel Kant. Why are so many of these German texts so exceedingly dense?
